Meeting called to order by the Mayor.
Present: Councilmen J.L.McBride, Thomas F. Larsen, Courtney R. Chandler.
Absent: Councilmen William Jerome, Milford W. Dahl
Each member of the City Council having received copies of the Minutes of
November 15th, 1954, reading of the Minutes was dispensed with and approved
on motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Larsen and carried.

On recommendation of the committee and on motion of Councilman McBride,
seconded by Larsen and carried, the bids for the furnishing of a ladde~
truck were rejected and the Manager and. Purchasing Agent were author-
ized to purchase the thr~e separate component parts in the open marke~,
the total cost not to exceed the low bid.

On motion of Councilman McBride, seconded by Larsen and carried,
action on the application of Betty L. Dueot for a variance to permit
the use of property at 1605 English Street for a day nursery was con-
tinued until December 20th, 195~, in accordance with the written re-
quest of Attorney Robert L. Corfman.
Communication of the Planning Commission was read submitting Resolution
No. 721 recommending the reclassification of Lots I to 4 inclusive,
Tract No. 2011, situated on the east side of South Baker Street between
West Edinger and West Stanford Streets, from the R-3 District to the
"P" District, in accordance with the amendment application of Cecil C.
DeVore. On motion of Councilman Larsen, seconded by McBride and
carried, a notice of public he~ring was ordered publlshe¢~ setting date
of hearing as December 20th, 1954.
Communication of the Planning Commission was read submitting Resolution
No. 719 recommending the reclassification of Lots 2, ~, 6, 8, 10, 12,
14, and 16, Block ll, South Side Addition, located on the east side
of Sycamore Street between Cubbon Street and Fairview Avenue, from the
R-3 District to the C-1 District, in accordance with the amendment
application of John R. Albert etal. On motion of Councilman Larsen,
seconded by McBride and carried, a notice of public hearing was ordere~
published setting date of hearing as December 20th, 195~.
Communication of the Planning Commission was re~d submitting Resolution
No. 720 recommending the reclassification of a 15-acre parcel of prop-
erty situated on the north side of West First Street between Sullivan
Street and the Santa Ana River, from the R-1 District to the M-1
District, in accordance with the amend3nent application of Robert L.
Sadd oral. On motion of Councilman Larsen, seconded by McBride and
carried, a notice of public hearing was ordered published setting date
of hearing as December 20th, 1954.

Communication was read from the Planning Commission recommending that
the proposed amendment to the "Official. Land-Use Districting Plan" to
add "auto-wrecking", "Junk yards" and "salvage yards" to the list of
uses prohibited in the M-1 District, be adopted. On motion of Council-
man Larsen, seconded by McBride and carried, a notice of public hear-
ing was ordered published setting date of hearing as December 20th,
195 .
Communication was read from the Planning Commission recommending that
the name of the street southerly from North Park Boulevard be changed
to "Bonnie Brae", instead of "Gr~enleaf Street", reference petition
signed by Allison Honer etal, and on motion of Councilman Larsen,
seconded by McBride and carried, the Attorney was instructed to prepare
the necessary Resolution.
It was moved by Councilman McBride, seconded by Larsen and a%rried,
that escrow instructions be approved and signed for vario~s properties
and warrants ordered issued covering the costs as follows:
