HomeMy WebLinkAbout71-023RESOLUTION 71-23 APPROVING MAP AND DECLARING INTENTION TO VACATE A PORTION OF GRAND AVENUE, SOUTH OF GROVEMONT STREET, AND GIVING NOTICE OF HEARING THEREON W~EREAS, Grand Avenue, as it exists south of Grovemont Street, is no longer necessary for present or prospective street purposes, and the Department of Public Works and the Planning Commission of the City of Santa Ana have recommended that a public hearing be set on the question of vacating said right of way; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby approves the map attached hereto and orders the same filed with the original of this Resolution in the office of the Clerk of the Council, and reference is hereby made to said map for the exterior boundaries of the right of way proposed to be vacated; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Council hereby declares its intention to proceed under the provisions of the Street Vacation Act of 1941 (Sections 8300 through 8374 of the California Streets and Highways Code) to vacate that portion of Grand Avenue south of Grovemont Street; said right of way proposed to be vacated lies within the City of Santa Aha, County of Orange, State of California, and is described as: The easterly 10.00 feet of Grand Avenue lying within that portion of the Santa Ana Grand Avenue Tract, as per map recorded in Book 26, Pages 53 and 54 of Miscellaneous Records of LOs Angeles County, California, described as follows: Beginning at the northeast corner of Lot 51 of said Tract; thence westerly along the northerly line of said LOt 51 and its prolongation parallel with the north line of Lot 17 of said tract to the center line of Grand Avenue, as shown on said map; thence southerly 428~0f~ along said center line to a point which is 51.13 feet south of a point 40.00 feet west of the northwest corner of Lot 33 of said tract; thence easterly 617.88 feet parallel with the northerly line of said Lot 17 to the center line of said unnamed street; thence northerly 428.90 feet along said last mentioned center line to its intersection with the easterly prolongation of said northerly line of said Lot 51; thence westerly 25.00 feet to the point of beginning. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That March 15, 1971, at the hour of 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers, City Hall Annex, 500 West Sixth Street, Santa Ana, California, is hereby fixed as the time and place for hearing all persons interested in or objecting to said proposed street vacation; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Clerk of the Council of the City of Santa Ana is hereby ordered to publish this Resolution one time in the Register, and the Director of Public Works is ordered to post notices of street vacation conspicuously along the line of said street, stating the passage of this Resolution of Intention to vacate and the time and place of hearing thereon. Said notices shall be posted not more than 300 feet apart and at least three (3) such notices shall be posted. Both publication and posting shall be completed at least ten (10) days before the date of hearing. -1- PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 16th day of February, 1971.
