OF TERRITORY DESIGNATED "JOANA AND GRAND SOUTHEAST
ANNEXATION" TO THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission of Orange
County has approved a description of territory herein below
contained and annexation of said territory to the City of Santa
Ana, California; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the requirements of Government
Code Section 54797.1, the Local Agency Formation Commission of
Orange County has approved the within annexation and has authorized
the City Council of the City of Santa Ana, California, to annex
said territory without notice and hearing by the City Council of
the City of Santa Ana;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of
the City of Santa Ana, California, hereby finds and declares that
said territory was uninhabited at the time of the adoption of this
Resolution, and is contiguous to the City of Santa Ana; that all
of the statements hereinabove are true and correct; and that said
territory shall not be taxed to pay any indebtedness of the City
existing at the time of this annexation;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That all of the territory in the
County of Orange, State of California, described as:
Beginning at a point on the East line of the Santa Clara
and Grand Northeast Annexation Number 2 to the City of
Santa Ana, California by Resolution 70-110 of the City
Council of the City of Santa Ana, California distant 428.90
feet Southerly from the Northeast corner of said annexation,
being on the East line of Grand Avenue, 80.00 feet wide,
as shown on a map of the Santa Ana Grand Avenue Tract which
is recorded in Book 26 at Pages 53 and 54 of Miscellaneous
Records of Los Angeles County, California, said point being
South 0°01' 39" West 170.63 feet and North 89o55' 24" East
40.00 feet from the intersection of center lines of Grand
Avenue with Joana Drive as said intersection is shown on
Tract No. 7356, recorded in Book 276, Page 36 of Miscel-
laneous Maps, records of Orange County, California; thence
South along the East line of said Annexation, a distance
of 197.88 feet to an angle point therein; thence South
8°16' 34" West along the East line of said Annexation and
along the East line of Grand Avenue, 80 feet wide, a dis-
tance of 43.74 feet; thence departing from said City boundary
North 89056' 55" East along a line parallel to the South
line of that certain 7.17 acre parcel described in deed to
Johan Jacob Mueller, recorded January 16, 1901 in Book 52,
Page 87 of Deeds, a distance of 584 feet, more or less, to
the East line of said parcel of land and to a point in the
center line of that certain 50.00 feet in width unnamed
street lying Easterly of Lots 51 to 55 inclusive of said
Santa Ana Grand Avenue Tract; thence North 0o03' 07" West
along said center line, a distance of 242.20 feet to an angle
point in the Grovemont and Grand Southwest annexation to the
City of Santa Ana, California by Resolution 70-116 of the
City Council of the City of Santa Ana; thence South 89056'
55" West along said City boundary, a distance of 578 feet,
more or less, to the point of beginning.
be and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Santa Ana and to
Ward Number 1 in said City, and said Annexation is by this Resolution
effected and declared. For the purpose of tax segregation of this
territory, the designation that applies is the "Santa Ana City
1957-1958 Annexes."
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That in accordance with Government
Code Section 35318 the annexed territory will become a part of the
City of Santa Aha from the date of filing by the Secretary of
State. The Clerk of the Council of the City of Santa Ana shall,
without delay, transmit to the Secretary of State a certified copy
of this Resolution.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 19th day of July, 1971.
