CONDEMNATION OF REAL PROPERTY
FOR THE WIDENING OF SEVENTEENTH
STREET FROM BROADWAY TO BUSH ST.
WHEREAS, in order to provide for a more orderly flow of
traffic on Seventeenth Street in the City of Santa Ana it has
become necessary to widen and improve said street from Broadway
to Bush Street.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of
the City of Santa Ana does hereby find and declare that the public
interest and necessity require that Seventeenth Street be widened
and improved from Broadway to Bush Street to provide for a more
orderly flow of east-west traffic, and further~quire that said
City do have, take, and acquire for street purposes that certain
real property in the City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State
of California, desc~bed as:
PARCEL 1:
Commencing at a point 345.2 feet West of the North-
east corner of Section 12, Township 5 South, Range
10 West, San Bernardino Base and Meridan; thence
North 89° 56' 40" West 100.00 feet along the center
line of Seventeenth Street as shown on a map recorded
in Book 7, Page 42 of Records of Survey in the office
of the County Recorder, Records of Orange County,
California; thence South 01 16' 20" West 40.00 feet
to a point on a line parallel with and 40.00 feet
Southerly, measured at right angles, from the center
line of said Seventeenth Street and to the true
point of beginning; thence South 89° 56' 40" East
95.60 feet; thence South 0~ 16' 20" West 37.14 feet
to a point of cusp with a tangent curve conoave
Southwesterly and having a radius of 25.00 feet;
thence Northwesterly along said curve through a
central angle of 90° 19' 40", an arc distance of
39.34 feet to a point on a tangent line parallel
with and 52.00 feet Southerly, measured at right
angles, from the center line of said Seventeenth
Street; thence North 89° 56' 40" West along last
mentioned parallel line a distance of 70.46 feet;
thence North 0° 16' 20" East 12.00 feet to the true
point of beginning.
PARCEL 2:
Those portions of Lots 2 and 4 in Block A of
Goodwin's Addition to the Town of Santa Ana, as
shown on a map thereof recorded in Book 13, Page
48 of Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County,
California, described as follows:
A. The Northerly 22.00 feet of said Lot 2.
Excepting therefrom those portions previously
dedicated for street purposes.
A spandrel shaped parcel of land bounded on
the North by the Southerly line of the above
described Parcel 2A; bounded on the West by
a line parallel with and 45.00 feet Easterly,
measured at right angles, from the center
line of Main Street; and bounded Southeasterly
by the arc of a curve concave Southeasterly,
having a radius of 25.00 feet and tangent to
said North and West boundaries.
Excepting therefrom those portions previously
dedicated for street purposes.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
1. That the City Attorney is hgrgby or~e~ed_to_.briDg ~n
~action in the name of the City of Santa Ana tO~lCOndemn said pro-
perty necessary to be taken and to do all things necessary to
prosecute said action to final determination;
~2.~ ~t th~__~b!.$c interest, necessity, and convenience
require, and it is hereby ordered, that said City take immediate
possession and use of the property herein ordered to be acquired
upon compliance with the requirements of law applicable thereto
as a right of way for public use;
3. That said public improvement is planned and located
in a manner which will be most compatible with the greatest public
good and the least private injury.
4. That the City of Santa Ana, a municipal corporation,
authorized and empowered to provide for the opening, extension,
widending, construction, and maintenance ofpublic streets and
highways within theCity; and
5~ That said act_i_o~ in condemnation sha!~ b~e. ~aken in
.accordance with the.provisions of the Code of Civil Procedure
and~the Constitution of the State of California relating to
eminent domain.
PASSED AND.ADOPTED by the City Council of the City
of Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the ls~
