INTENTION TO VACATE A PORTION OF GRAND A~rENUE
NORTH OF MC FADDEN AVENUE
WHEREAS, that portion of Grand Avenue north of McFadden
Avenue is no longer necessary for present or prospective street
purposes, and the Department of Public Works and the Planning
Commission of the City of Santa Ana have recommended that a
public hearing be set on the question of vacating said right of
way;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of
the City of Santa Aha hereby approves the map attached hereto
and orders the same filed with the original of this Resolution
in the office of the Clerk of the Council, and reference is
hereby made to said map for the exterior boundaries of the right
of way proposed to he vacated;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Council hereby declares
its intention to proceed under the provisions of the Street Vacation
Act of 1941 (Section 8300 through 8374 of the California Streets
and Highway Code) that portion of Grand Avenue north of McFadden
Avenue. Said right of way proposed to be vacated lies in the City
of Santa Aha, County of Orange, State of California, and is
described as:
That portion of Section 17, Township 5 South, Range 9
West in the land allotted to N.O. Stafford and C. Tustin,
in the City of Santa Ana, as described in the Final Decree
of Partition of the Rancho Santiago de Santa Aha, which
was entered September 12, 1868 in Book "B", Page 410 of
Judgments of the District Court of the 17th Judicial
District in and for Los Angeles County, California,
described as follows:
All that portion of said Section 17 bounded Easterly by
the East line of Grand Avenue, formerly McClay Street, as
described in deed recorded March 29, 1890, in Book 7, Page
206 of Deeds, records of said Los Angeles County and
bounded Westerly by the following described line;
Beginning at the intersection of the center line of Grand
Avenue and McFadden Avenue as said intersection is shown
on a map filed in Book 30, Page 28 of Parcel Maps; thence
along said center line of McFadden Avenue North 88° 39'
00" East 52.22 feet; thence North 1° 21' 00" West 42.00
feet to a point on a non-tangent curve concave North-
easterly and having a radius of 25.00 feet, a radial to
said point bears South 1° 21' 00" East and to the true
point of beginning; thence along said curve Northwesterly
39.95 feet through a central angle of 91° 33' 55"; thence
tangent to said curve North 0° 12' 55" East 131.03 feet to
the beginning of a tangent curve concave Easterly and having
a radius of 950.00 feet; thence along said curve Northerly
87.02 feet through a central angle of 5° 14' 54"; thence
tangent to said curve North 5° 27' 49" East 217.35 feet to
the beginning of a tangent curve concave Westerly and having
a radius of 1050.00 feet; thence along said curve Northerly
102.06 feet through a central angle of 5° 34' 09" to a
point of tangency with a line parallel with and Easterly
57.00 feet from said center line of Grand Avenue; thence
along said parallel line North 0° 06' 20" West 492.20 feet.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That February 7th, 1972, at the
hour of 7:30 p.m. in the Council C~ambers, City Hall Annex,
530 North Ross Street, Santa Ana, California is hereby fixed
as the hour and place for hearing all persons interested in
or objecting to said proposed street vacation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Clerk of the Council
of the City of Santa Ana is hereby ordered to publish this
Resolution one time in the Register, and the Director of Public
Works is ordered to post notices of street vacation conspicuously
along the line of said street, stating the passage of this
Resolution of Intention to Vacate and the time and place of
hearing thereon. Said notices shall be posted not more than
300 feet apart and at least three (3) such notices shall be
posted. Both publication and posting shall be completed at
least ten (10) days before the date of hearing.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 3rd day of
January, 1972.
