HomeMy WebLinkAbout72-024RESOLUTION 72-24 AMENDING RESOLUTION 71-86 PERTAINING TO CLASS TITLE OF DEPUTY CITY ATTORNEY II WHEREAS, on September 7, 1971, the City Council passed and adopted Resolution 71-86 adding class title of Deputy City Attorney II and establishing salary range %57 therefor; and WHEREAS, the job specification of said employment class re- quires admission to the California Bar with a minimum experience of 1-1/2 years of public corporation law, or 3 years of general civil law; and WHEREAS, it is in the best services of attorneys with more ments; and interests of the City to obtain the than the minimum experience require- WHEREAS, competing governmental agencies within the locality have established higher paying classifications for attorneys, and in some instances pay higher salaries than Santa Ana in the same classifications; and WHEREAS, the City Attorney will be able to hire experienced attorneys by starting them at a salary step higher than "B" rather than at a higher classification. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That Resolution 71-86 is here- by amended by adding the following: "The appointing authority, at his discretion may start an employee under this classifica- tion as high as step C." on BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That this amendment shall take effect February 22 , 1972.
