City Council met in adjourned regular session.
Meeting called to order by the Mayor.

In Re This being the date to canvass voters ballots and it ~attsfactortly
Canvass
Elsc~ion Returns appears to the City Council of the City of Santa Ana that notice of
the General Municipal and Special B6nd Election was duly and regularly
held on April 12th, 1955, according to law. On motion of Counoilman
Jerome, seconded by McBride and carried, the Clerk was ordered to pro-
seed with the canvassing of the ballots and the absentee ballots.
There were forty-nine voting precincts established for the purpose of
holding said Election, consisting of a consolidation of the regula~
election precincts established for holding the last generai State and
County elections. As a result of the canvass it was discovered that

the Tally List in Consolidated Precinct No. 2 had not been completed
in that the Tall~ on the Special Bond Election had not been entered
therein. On motion of Councilman Larsen, seconded by Jerome and
carried, subpoenas were ordered issued and $$rved on the four persons
who served'as Election Officers on Consolidated Precinct No. 2 requirir~
their appearance in the Council Chamber at 5:30 P.M., April 20th, 1955,~
for the purpose of completing the Tally List for the Library Bond pro-
position, such subpo.~nas to be served by the Acting Chief of Police.
On motion of Councilman Larsen, seconded by Jerome and carried, the
Manager ~as granted permission to leave the State from April 20th to
April 26th, 1955, for the purpose of interviewing a prospective Chief
seconded by Jerome and carried, the
