RESOLUTION NO. 72-119
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA APPROVING THE PROPOSED FEDERAL-AID
URBAN STREET SYST~4 FOR THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
URBANIZED AREA PORTION OF THE LOS ANGELES-LONG
BEACH METROPOLITAN AREA
WHEREAS, the Federal Highway Act of 1970 directed the establishment of
a Federal-Aid Urban System for the Metropolitan Areas, and
WHEREAS, the Federal legislation provided that routes on the Urban
System shall be selected by appropriate local officials and the State Highway
Department in cooperation with each other, and
WHEREAS, the Local Angeles Region Transportation Study Group and the
local agencies of the Los Angeles-Long Beach Metropolitan Area, in cooperation
with the Division of Highways have selected a proposed Federal-Aid Urban
System within the 1970 Bureau of Census Urbanization Limits conforming to
the instructions of the Federal Highway Administration, and
WHEREAS, the proposed routes of Federal-Aid Urban Sytem for the Los
Angeles-Long Beach Metropolitan Area conform to the Federal and State
functional classification systems of the region.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Santa Ana approves the
proposed Federal-Aid Urban System selected for the City of Santa Ana portion
of the Los Angeles-Long Beach Metropolitan Area as corrected and shy changes
in the Federal-Aid Secondary System and the Federal-Aid Primary Type II (TOPICS)
System, all as shown on the attached map, Exhibit A, and recommends them for
submission to the Federal Highway Administration by the California Division
of Highways.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana at its
regular meeting held on the 4th day of December , 1972.
