A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING A REPRESENTATIVE
PROJECT AREA COMMITTEE FOR THE SANTA ANA
COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
WHEREAS, Section 33385 of the California Health and Safety
Code, California Community Redevelopment Act, provides as
follows:
"The legislative body of a city or county
shall call upon the residents and existing
community organizations in a redevelopment
project area, within which a substantial
number of low- and moderate-income families
are to be displaced by the redevelopment
project to form a Project Area Committee.
The Project Area Committee, shall include
when applicable, residential owner occupants,
residential tenants, businessmen, and members
of existing organizations within the Project
Area. The members of the Committee shall
serve without compensation.
The legislative body shall approve a repre-
sentative Project Area Committee in each project
area within sixty (60) days after the project
area is selected."
WHEREAS, the Santa Ana Planning Commission, at its regular
meeting of April 9, 1973, approved a project area; and
WHEREAS, on April 2, 1973, the City Council of the City
of Santa Ana called upon those persons so qualified within the
project area to form a Project Area Committee; and
WHEREAS, on April 27, 1973, a Project Area Committee was
formed consisting of residential owner occupants, residential
tenants, businessmen, and members of existing organizations
within the project area, whose names are as follows: Howard
Way, Albert Alves, Bob Waldron, Warren A. Schmidt, Bill Brown,
Jim Patterson, Dave Flaherty, Fern Zimmerman, and Jacqueline
Fox.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Santa Ana City Council
approves Howard Way, Albert Alves, Bob Waldron, Warren A. Schmidt,
Bill Brown, Jim Patterson, Dave Flaherty, Fern Zimmerman and
Jacqueline Fox as the representative Project Area Committee for the
City of Santa Ana Redevelopment Project Area.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana,
California, at its regular meeting held on the 7th day of May, 1973.
