A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA APPROVING AN APPLICATION FOR GRANT
FOR ORANGE COUNTY VEHICLE THEFT & STATISTICAL
ANALYSIS UNIT, CALIFORNIA COUNCIL ON CRIMINAL
JUSTICE AND AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF POLICE OF
THE CITY OF SANTA ANA TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS
PERTINENT THERETO.
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana desires to undertake a certain
project designated Orange County Vehicle Theft and Statistical Ana-
lysis Unit (Crime Specific - Auto Theft) to be funded in part from
funds made available through the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe
Streets Act of 1968, PL 90--355, as amended PL 91-644, (hereafter
referred to as the Safe Streets Act) administered by the California
Council on Criminal Justice (hereafter referred to as CCCJ).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA that the Chief of Police, Raymond C. Davis of
the Santa Ana Police Department, was authorized on its behalf, to
submit the attached Application for Grant for Law Enforcement Pur-
poses to CCCJ and is authorized to execute on behalf of the City of
Santa Ana the attached Grant Award Contract for law enforcement pur-
poses including any extensions or amendments thereof.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the applicant agrees to provide
all matching funds required for said project (including any exten-
sion or amendment thereof) under the Safe Streets Act and the rules
and regulations of CCCJ and the Law Enforcement Assistance Adminis-
tration and that cash will be appropriated as required thereby.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that grant funds received hereunder
shall not be used to supplant on-going law enforcement expendi-
tures.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular adjourned meeting held on the Z5th day
of 3une , 1973.
