OF RESOLUTION NO. 58-281 TO DELETE
CLASS TITLE OF DUPLICATING MACHINE
OPERATOR AND ADD CLASS TITLE OF
REPROGRAPHIC SERVICES LEADMAN
WHEREAS, on November 3, 1958, the City Council passed and adopted Resolution
No. 58-281, revising and re-establishing the Basic Compensation Plan for employees
of the City of Santa Aha; and
WHEREAS, it is now desired to modify the list of class titles contained in
said Resolution No. 58-281, as amended.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the following class title be deleted
from Section~ 3 of Resolution No. 58-281, as amended:

DEFINITION
Under general supervision, supervises and parflicipates in the operation of offset
println8 and other duplicating shop equipment; supervises central mail and messenger
services; and performs other related duties as required.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Operates'and supervises the operation of offset printing presses, photocopy, and
other duplicating equipment used in producing a considerable volume and variety of
printed materials; operates or supervises the operation of auxiliary equipment, such
as collators, folders, staplers, and paper punching, cutting, and perforating machines;
operates copy camera and develops and prepares photographic negatives for offset press
platemaking; burns and develops plates; advises and assists departments regarding lay-
out~ size, color, paper stock, type, and method of reproduction of material to be
published; estimates cost and completion time for large Job orders; establishes prior-
ities and deadlines, schedules and assigns work, and adjusts work procedures to meet
special production schedules; instructs assigned personnel in the operation of various
machines and in the work and procedures of the section; supervises and coordinates the
work of employees engaged in mail distribution, messenger service, and related activi-
ties; observes and enforces safety rules and regulations; maintains, adjusts and makes
minor repairs to all machines and equipment; keeps stock usage and production records;
orders materials and suplies to maintain adequate inventory levels.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS
Thi~ is skilled and 'supervisory work in the operation of offset printing and related
duplicating and bindery equipment used in providing central duplicating service for
all city departments. Work involves responsiblity for the'accurate and efficient
operation and maintenances various duplicating shop equipment determining methods
of reproduction, and making decisions on priority of work. Duties also include
supervision of messenger and mail services. Ail work is under the general supervision
of an administrative superior and is reviewed by results achieved as well as economy
of materials and efficiency of operations.
MIN124UM BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or vocat$onal
'school and considerable experience in the operation and maintenance of offset printing
and related equipment; or any equivalent combination of experience and training offering
specific and substantta% preparation for the duties of tile position,
DESIRABLE..KNOWLEDGE~ SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Thorough knowledge of the uses, operation and mainf~nance of offset printing and re-
lated equipment, including collating, inserting, folding and ~ind~ry machines; consid-
erable knowledge of the papers, inks, and other supplies used in reprographic processes,
including weights, type~ and uses of paper; ability to plan and schedule work; ability
to follow detailed oral and written instructions; ability to keep routine reccrds and
to prepare reports; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
with employees and others contacted in the course of work.
