Chandler Hone Each member of the City Council having received copies of the Minutes of December 5th, 1955, reading of the Mimutes was dispensed with and approved on tactics of 0ouncilman Neinly, seconded by Dehl and carried. Thurstoz for the reclassification of a 9.87 acre parcel of land located on the north side of McFadden Street between wa!laday and McClay Streets, Council,~ Markel objected to the rezoning of the property frem the R-1 to the M-1 District. On motion of Council m,~ Dahl, seconded by Neinly and carried, the following Ordin~nce entitled: "Ordinance sm~nding Article IX of the Santa Aha Municipal ~ode creating changes in district boundaries and amending Sheet No. 45 of the Districting Map to show the reclassification" In Re Hearing Council initiated City-owned property (Corporation Yard) Ordinance was intro(luced, Considered and placed on file for second reading. This being the date set for hearing and no protests having been received, the ~ouncil initiated emena,~nt was considered for the reclassification of property owned by the ~ity of Saata A~ a~ located south of Delhi Road extending to ~entral Avenue, which is to be used for a yard for repair and storage of City equilm~ent and supplies, from the R-1 to the C-2 District. On motion of Counct !~n Dahl, seconded by Jerome and car- tied, the recom.~udation of the p]an,~,g Commission was approved and the variance In Re Variance Bryan-Santa Ana~ Ltd. denied. Co~mmlnication was read from the Planning Co~aiasion recommending approval to permit the use of property at the northwest corner of Grand and Washington Avenues, for t~ erection of a Shell Oil Company service station directly at the corner and improve the remaining area, with a new building containing six small stores, to be used for any use permitted in the "P" zone, with the exception of a malt shop, cafe or restaurant, subject to certain conditions. Attorney Leroy Lyon appeared befor$ t~ Council stating that there must be some misunderstanding or error in the language of th~ recommendation reference the listed uses or similar uses and requested that the variance be granted to include similar uses. Mrs. R.J.Armstrong read a letter setting forth objections to the gra~ting of the variance ~ut favored enterprises ~!-!ifying fo~ the "P" zone, and on motion of Councflman Neinly seconded by Dahl and carried, the communication w~s received -nd filed. On motion of Councilman D~bl, seconded by Markel and carried, the recommendation of the P]~,~ing Commission was approved and variance grunted subject to the conditions imposed by the P]-nntng ¢~m,~ ssion, Department of Public Works and uses allowed in Group "F" oocupancy as set forth in the Building Code, with the exception of a restaurant, cafe or malt in Re Variance H.T.Davis et ux shop. On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Markel and carried, the rec~ndation of the Pl~n~ing Commission was approved and the variance of Mr. and Mrs. N. T. D~vis granted to permit the addition of a shed 10' wide and 35' long, to south wall of existing building used for merket, on property at 1302 West Washington Avenue, removing the two front doors frc~ beauty parlor, under the s~ roof, but at 1220 In Re Variance Seng Mie Lure et ux North Bristol Street, re~lacing them with one modern door. Winchell granted to permit the use of the southerly portion of lot at 520 Mabury Street, for a maximum period of two years, for the storing and parking of busses of the M. & W.
