RESOLUTION NO. 73-123
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA ORDERING THE VACATION
OF A PORTION OF NEWHOPE STREET APPROXI-
MATELY 300' EAST OF THE SANTA ANA RIVER
ON THE NORTH SIDE OF MAC ARTHUR BOULEVARD
WHEREAS, on recommendation of the Department of Public
Works and the Planning Commission of the City of Santa Ana,
the City Council of the City of Santa Ana adopted Resolution
No. 73-122, giving notice of intention to vacate a portion of
Newhope Street approximately 300' east of the Santa Ana River
on the north side of MacArthur Boulevard; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 73-122 was published and notice
of intention to vacate was posted as required by law; and
WHEREAS, on November 19, 1973, a public hearing was duly
held on said vacation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council
of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds that the above named
portion of Newhope Street is no longer necessary for present
or prospective street purposes, and does hereby make its
order to vacate said right of way. Said right of way lies
in the City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of California,
described as follows:
That portion of Newhope Street, 40 feet wide,
in the South half of Section 28, Township 5
South, Range 10 West in the Rancho Las Bolsas
in the City of Santa Ana, as per map recorded
in Book 51, Page 12 of Miscellaneous Maps in
the Office of the County Recorder of said
Orange County and in Tract 1025 as per map
recorded in Book 33, Page 34 of Miscellaneous
Maps in the office of said County Recorder,
bounded and described as follows:
That portion of Newhope Street as shown on
said map of Tract 1025 bounded Northwesterly
by the Southeasterly line of that certain
parcel of land conveyed to the Orange County
Flood Control District by deed recorded on
December 28, 1960, in Book 5566, Page 215
of Official Records in the office of said
County Recorder, and bounded Southerly by
a line parallel with and distant 52.00 feet
Northerly, measured at right angles, from
the center line of Talbert Avenue as shown
on said map of Tract 1025.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City
of Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 19
day of November , 1973.
