A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING TRE PLANNING DIRECTOR
TO MAKE APPLICATION TO THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
ASSOCIATION OF GCVERNMENTS TRANSPORTATION
PLANNING AGENCY FOR A GRANT FROM THE LOCAL
TRANSPORTATION FUND
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana has an adopted Bike Route
Plan as an element of the General Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City is seeking all available funding for
implementation of a bike route plan; and
WHEREAS, SB 821 of the 1973 Session of the California State
Legislature authorizes funds to be made available from the Local
Transportation Fund in Fiscal Year 1974-75 for the construction
of bicycle facilities; and
WHEREAS, the Southern California Association of Governments,
in accordance with the Transportation Development Act of the
State of California has determined the population apportionments
and related dollars allocations for which California cities may
apply; and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Aha, as a claimant, may be
allocated a maximum sum of $30,304 for Fiscal Year 1974-75; and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana must submit a claim to the
Southern California Association of Governments Transportation
Planning Agency for eligible funds by April 2, 1974;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Santa Aha authorizes the Planning Director to make
application to the Southern California Association of Governments
Transportation Planning Agency for $30,304 from the Local Trans-
portation Fund, to be used in developing bicycle facilities in
the City of Santa Ana.
