On motion of Councilman Hcinly~ seconded by Markel a~ud carried, the co~mmunication from Vain S. Pomeroy was received and filed. Communication was read from t~e Planning Commission recommending that a variance be granted tQ~Minnie M. ~.Iild, on behalf of the Revere Copper and Brass Company, Inc., to establish a plant on property consisting of approximately eighty acres, situated ~980.04 feet south of Delhi Read, on the north side of the Pacific Electric Railwa~ tracks between Bristol Street and Flower Street, if extended south, for the melti[ and casting of copper, copper alloys, a/~-,fuum and other metals except metals of high ferrous base, etc. Two persons stood in protest. On motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Markel and carried, proper officials were authorized to execute the agreement dated June 4th, 1956, with the County of 0range for participation of the City in the cost construction for the extension of Bristol Street, north of Memory Lane to the Santa Ana Freeway. On recommendation of the Manager and on motion of Councilman Dahl, seconded by Heinly and carried, the Mayor was authorized to execute the petition, on behalf of the C~ty, which contained 139 signatures requesting certain Lmprovements in the Delhi District through an assessment district. Hector Ood'~nez, representing the people in the area, expressed his apprec!ation to the Cou~nc~l for their cooperation in this matter.
