HomeMy WebLinkAbout74-073RESOLUTION NO. 74-73 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF POLICE TO ENTER INT0 AGREEMENTS WITH THE CALIFORNIA HIGH~AY PATROL TO PROVIDE MOTOR- CYCLE TRAINING FOR SANTA ANA POLICE OFFICERS W/4EREAS, the Santa Ana Police Department has expanded its Motorcycle Officer Program in order to improve law enforcement within the City; and~ WHEREAS, the Chief of Police has investigated the availability of approved motorcycle officer training programs and has recommended contracting with the California Highway Patrol at Sacramento for such training; and WHEREAS, the California Highway Patrol has submitted a Motor- cycle Training Agreement requiring the approval of the City Council before Santa Ana police officers may attend the California High- way Patrol Academy. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED; That the City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby approves the participation of the Santa Ana Police Department in the Motorcycle Training Program offered by the California Highway Patrol and authorizes the Chief of Police to execute from time to time motorcycle training agreements in substantially the form submitted to and approved by this Coun- cil on this date.
