City Council met in adjourned regular session.
Meeting called to order by the Mayor.

On motion of Councilman Heinly,
seconded by Jerome and carried, the cc~nunication
frc~ 0'Melveny & Myers, Bonding Attorneys, in co~ction with the authorization and
issuance of $700,000 bonds for library purposes, was received and filed. On motio~
of Councilman Heinly, seconded by Markel and carried, the employment of O'Melveny &
Myers, Bonding Attorneys, was approved Setting forth the' fees for the preparation

necessary documents in connection with the $700~000 bond issue for library purposes.
The Council having unanimously waived the reading of t~e Resolution, on motion of
Councilman Jerome~ seconded by Heinly ~nd carried, the following Resolution entitled
"Resolut!~ No. ~6-2~ of t~ ~ity C~A~eil ~ th~ City of Santa Ana~
Californi~ determining that the publ~ic interest and ~e~ssity demand
the acquisition an~ construction of a certain municipal improvement
and making findings relating thereto"
was considered and passed by the following vote:

The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Ordinance, on motion of
Councilman Neinly, seconded by Markel and carried, the following Ordinance entitled:
"An Ordinance of the City of Santa Ana, California, ordering,
calling, providing for sad giving notice of &Speeial Municipal
Election to be held in the City of Santa Ana on the 6th day of
November, 1956, for the purpose of submitting to the q~,~.l ified
voters of said City a proposition to incur bonded indebtedness
by said City for a certain municipal improvement and consolidatin~
said election with the General Election to be held on said date"
Request for
Special License
was introduced, considered and placed on file for second reading.
It was moved by Councilman Heinly, seconded by Jerome and carried, that Robert B.
Meek, Preacher, be granted a special license permit to preach in the City since he
has agreed to comply with all regulations as set forth in Section 4280.2 and Sectio~
4280.3 of the Municipal Code and is willing to cooperate with the Police Department
On motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by Jerome and carried, the City Council
adjourned to Wednesday, August 29th, 1956, at 5:30 P.M. in the Council Chamber.
