A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA APPROVING THE DESTRUCTION BY THE
DIRECTOR OF BUILDING SAFETY OF CERTAIN CITY
RECORDS UNDER HIS CHARGE
WHEREAS, Section 34090 of the Government Code of the State
of California authorizes the head of a city department to des-
troy any city record, document, instrument, book or paper under
his charge, without making a copy thereof, after the same is
no longer required, except for records affecting the title to
real property or liens thereon, court records, records required
to be kept by statute, records less than five years old, and
minutes, ordinances, or resolutions of the legislative body
or city board or commission, provided he has the approval of
the legislative body by resolution and the written consent of
the city attorney; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Building Safety has requested
approval for the destruction of certain records under his charge,
as specified below, which records are no longer required and
are not within the above-stated excepted categories, and for
which destruction thereof the city attorney has given his writ-
ten consent;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council does
hereby approve the destruction of records, as requested by the
Director of Building Safety, specifically stated to be as
follows:

for Plumbing Permit Fees 1955-1962
for Electrical Permit Fees 1959-1962
for Lath & Plaster Permit Fees
1. Copies of receipts
2. Copies of receipts
3. Copies of receipts
4. Copies of receipts
1957-1962
5. Copies of Building Permits 1965-1967
6. Copies of Plumbing Permits 1966-1970 (January)
7. Copies of Electrical Permits 1963-1967
8. Daily Ledgers of all fees 1948-1958
9. Applications for Plumbing Permits 1958-1969
10. Applications for Electrical Permits 1959-1968
11. Applications for Mechanical Permits 1965-1968
12. Individual Inspection Record Cards 1959-1968
(Building, Plumbing, Electrical, and Mechanical)
13. Copies of Use and Occupancy Certificates 1958-1960
14. Copies of Requisitions, Purchase Orders, and Issue
Slips 1949-1960
15. Copies of House Moving Applications 1952-1956
16. Miscellaneous correspondence, reports and documents
1951-1955
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 3rd
day of February , 1975.
