Pre sent: Councilmen Absent: Councilmen Certification '~North of Smeltzer ~nnexation" Dale E. Heinly, J. Ogden Markel, William Jerome, Milford W. Dahl None The Clerk read her certification stating an examination had been made of the for annexation of territory designated "North of Smettzer Annexation" to determine the number of voters residing within the area described in said petition who have signed the same; that said examination was made, and from the records of maintained by the County Clerk of Orange County, has determined that 752 voters who reside in said territory have signed the petition; that there are 2~7~ registered voters residing in said territory; and the number of vo~ers who signed said petition is 31.6% of all the voters residing in said territory. On motion of Councilman Certification "South of Smeltzer Annexation" Heinly, seconded by Markel and carried, the certification was received and filed. The Clerk read her certification stating an examination had been made of the for aunexation of territory designated "South of Smeltzer Annexation" to determine the number of voters residing within the area described in said petition who have signed the same; that said examination was made, and from the records of registratio maintained by the County Clerk of Orange County, has determined that 91 voters who reside in said territory have signed the petition; that there are 310 registered voters residing in said territory; and the number of voters who signed said petition is 29.3% of all the voters residing in said territory. On motion of Councilman Reso. No. 57-~7 Declaring intention to call a Special Election North of ameltzer Annexation" Markel, seconded by Jerome and carried, the certification was received and filed. The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by Jerome and carried, the following Resolution "Resolution No. 57-67 declaring intention to call a Special Election in territory designated 'North of Smeltzer Annexation' and fixing date of hearing protests against said Election" was considered and passed by the following vote: Aye s, Councilmen Noe s, Councilmen Absent, Councilmen Dale H. Heinly, J. Ogden Markel, William Jerame, Milford W. Dahl None None .206 Reso. No. 57-68 Declaring intention to call a Special Election "South of ~eltzer Annexation" The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of Counci~m~u Heinly, seconded by Jerome and carried, the following Resolution entitle "Resolution No. 57-68 declaring intention to call a Special Election in territory desi~ated 'South of Smeltzer Annexation' and fixing date of hearing protests a6ainst said Election" was considered and passed by the following vote: Lease No. 16068 Pacific Electric Railway Co. Ayes, Councilmen Dale H. Heinly, J. Ogden Markel, William Jerome, Milford W. D~bl Noes, Councilmen None Absent, Councilmen None On motion of Councilman ~einly, seconded by Markel and carried, proper officials were authorized to execute Lease 16068, dated March 18, 1957, for an underground water line crossing of the Pacific Electric Railway Company tracks at Bristol and Talbert, for tt~ consideration of $20.00 for each five-year period, or fraction thereof.
