RESOLUTIO~ NO. 76-2
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ~IA AUTHORIZING CONDE~A-
TION OF REAL PROPERTY FOR STREET WIDENING
OF SEVENTEE[ITH STREET FROM ROSS TO OLIVE
STREET (A.P. 2-104-37)
BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Santa Ana does hereby find and declare that the public interest
and necessity require that in order to widen Seventeenth Street
the hereinbelow described real property be condemned.
BE IT FURTtIER RESOLVED that work is to begin immediately,
and it is necessary for the City of Santa Ana to have possession
of the hereinbelow described property as soon as possible
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that such acquisition is done
in a manner consistent with the greatest public good and the
least private injury.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the attached map be entered
as Exhibit "A" and be used as an illustration of the her~inbelow
described property:

Parcel 1: The Southerly 12.00 feet of the Northerly
110.00 feet of that portion of the land allotted to
William Ferguson in the City of Santa Ana, County
of Orange, State of California, as described in the
final decree of partition of the Rancho Santiago
de Santa Ana, which was entered September 12, 1868
in Book "B" page 410 of Judgments of the District
Court of the 17th Judicial District in and for Los
Angeles County, California described as follows:
Beginning at the Southeast corner of Lot 14 in Block
"B" of Tract No. 256, as per map recorded in Book
14 page 23 of Miscellaneous Maps, in the office
of the County Recorder of said County thence West
90.00 feet along the South line of said lot, to
the Southwest corner of said lot; thence South 110.00
feet parallel with the West line of Ross Street to
the North line of Seventeenth Street as widened by
decree rendered out of the Superior Court of Orange
County, California, (Case No. 27242) on January 11,
1933; thence East 90.00 feet along said North line
of Seventeenth Street, to the West line of Ross
Street; thence North 110.00 feet along the West line
of Ross Street; to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
Parcel 2: A spandrel-shaped parcel of land of radius
25.00 feet, concave Northwesterly, tangent to the
West line of Ross Street and tangent to a line
parallel to and 12.00 feet Northerly of the Southerly
line of said land allotted to William Ferguson in
the City of Santa Aha, County of Orange, State of
California.
Parcel 3: The Southerly 12.00 feet of the east
2.00 feet of the Northerly 100 feet of the Southerly
114 feet of Lot 3 of lands of A.F. ~rton and W.B.
Ramsey, in the City of Santa Ana, County of Orange,
State of California, as per map filed in Book 2,
page 8 of Record of Surveys in the office of the
County Recorder of said county.

Except the Southerly 12.00 feet of the Northerly

Beginning at a point in a line parallel with and
2.00 feet West from the East line of said Lot 3,
said point being 14.00 feet North from the South line
of said Lot 3, said point also being in the Northerly
line of 17th Street, 80.00 feet in width; thence
North along said parallel line, 100.00 feet; thence
Southerly in a direct line to a point in the said
Northerly line of 17th Street, said point being
located 1.86 feet West measured along the North line
of 17th Street from the intersection of the East
line of said Lot 3 with the said North line of
17th Street; thence West along the North line to
said 17th Street o.14 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Attorney is
hereby ordered to bring an action in the name of the City of
Santa Ana to condemn said property necessary to be taken and to
do all things necessary to prosecute said action to final
determination.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Attorney is
ordered to obtain immediate possession of that portion of the
above described property together with the right to enter upon
the remaining property where necessary for construction and
severing purposes.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana at its re§ular meeting held on the
5th ~day of January , 1976.
