HomeMy WebLinkAbout76-057KLG:rs 5-18-76 RESOLUTION NO. 76-57 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING THE APPLICA- TION FOR BICYCLE FUNDS AUTHORIZED UNDER SB 821 WHEREAS, SB 821 provides that 2 percent of each County's total Local Transportation Fund be annually set aside and used to fund the development of bicycle and pedestrian facilities; and WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana has planned a bikeway system in conformance with specifications of the California Highway Design Manual and the Regional Transportation Plan; and WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana desires to construct a por- tion of the adopted Master Bike Route Plan within the City utili- zing the funds available under SB 821; and WHEREAS, one essential segment between Warner Avenue and Bristol Street connecting the Pacific Electric and Southern Pacific Routes remains to be constructed. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: That the Bikeway System shall be designed and constructed in conformance with the specifica- tions of the California Highway Design Manual and the Regional Transportation Plan; That the Director of Public Works is authorized to apply for all funds available to the City of Santa Ana allocated for bikeways and pedestrian facilities (SB 821) for the purpose of construct- ing a portion of the Southern Pacific Route be- tween Warner Avenue and Bristol Street, and to represent the City in connection therewith.
