RESOLUTION NO. 76-72
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENTS WITH THE
CALIFORNIA STATE POLICE TO PROVIDE TRAIN-
ING FOR SANTA ANA POLICE OFFICERS
WHEREAS, the Chief of Police is required on numerous
occasions to provide police protection for public officials and
foreign dignitaries; and
WHEREAS, the Chief of Police has investigated the
availability of approved officer training programs and bas
recommended contracting with the State of California, Department
of General Services, California State Police Division, for such
training; and
WHEREAS, the California State Police have a standard
form of Public Official Protection Training Agreement requiring
the approval of the City of Santa Aha before Santa Ana police
officers may attend the California State instruction,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Santa Ana hereby approves the participation of
members cf the Santa Ana Police Department in the Public Offi-
cial Protection Program offered by the California Department
of General Services, California State Police Division, and
authorizes the City Manager to execute, from time to time
during fiscal year 1976-77, Public Official Protection training
agreements with the California State Police so long as the total
cost of all of said agreements does not exceed two thousand
dollars ($2,000).

of Santa Ana at its regular meeting held
cn the 19th day of 3uly , 1976.
