HomeMy WebLinkAbout76-127 RESOLUTION NO. 76-127 U'.;c~J : t_::~.--~, ~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE ~ FOR IMPOUNDED ANIMALS ':~:~ ' i Q ~ -53 WHEREAS, the cost of providing Animal Control services in the City to insure the public safety, health, .and welfare is increasing each year; and WHEREAS, the County of orange Animal Shelter provides services to the City by contract, the cost of which has been increased periodically; and WHEREAS, in the interests of fairness and equity, it is the intent of the City Council to effect a self-supporting Animal Control operation insofar as may be possible; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the following fee schedule is adopted for services rendered by the Veterinary Public Health Division of the Orange County Health Department: For animals impounded at the Shelter: 1. Impound fees: Minimum a. Large animal (horse, cow, etc.) actual cost or $25.00 b. Medium animal (pig, sheep, etc.) actual cost or 10.00 Dog, cat, or other small animal actual cost or 10.00 (Except that animals that are impounded more than once within a twelve (12) month period will be charged above fees plus fifty percent (50%) of prior impounding charges). 2. Placement fees: Minimum a. Dog . $10.00 b. Cat . 6.00 c. Other animal subject to placement . market value Animal release fee for approved medical research: a. Dog b. Cat . c. Other animal . d. Dead animal $10.00 6.00 · market value 1.00 4. Daily care and feed (minimum of one day charge): a. Large animal (horse, cow, etc.). b. Medium animal (pig, sheep, etc.) c. DOg or cat d. Vaccination against rabies be Medical or surgical care, per treatment, at Orange County Animal Shelter . (1) Large or medium animal, actual cost or (2) Dog, cat, or other small animal, actual cost or 6. Miscellaneous services: a. Euthanasia, upon request of owner Minimum $ 5.00 · Minimum $10.00 $ 5.00 · Free b. Copies of documents approved for release, per page. $ .10 Note: The Director may charge the owner or custodian for veterinary care rendered to impounded animals and such charges shall constitute a lien on said animals.
