A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE ~
FOR IMPOUNDED ANIMALS ':~:~ ' i Q ~ -53
WHEREAS, the cost of providing Animal Control services
in the City to insure the public safety, health, .and welfare is
increasing each year; and
WHEREAS, the County of orange Animal Shelter provides
services to the City by contract, the cost of which has been
increased periodically; and
WHEREAS, in the interests of fairness and equity, it
is the intent of the City Council to effect a self-supporting
Animal Control operation insofar as may be possible;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the following fee
schedule is adopted for services rendered by the Veterinary
Public Health Division of the Orange County Health Department:
For animals impounded at the Shelter:
1. Impound fees: Minimum
a. Large animal (horse, cow, etc.)
actual cost or $25.00
b. Medium animal (pig, sheep, etc.)
actual cost or 10.00
Dog, cat, or other small animal
actual cost or 10.00
(Except that animals that are impounded more than once
within a twelve (12) month period will be charged above
fees plus fifty percent (50%) of prior impounding charges).
2. Placement fees: Minimum
a. Dog . $10.00
b. Cat . 6.00
c. Other animal subject to placement . market value
Animal release fee for approved medical
research:
a. Dog

The Director may charge the owner or custodian for
