RESOLUTION NO. 76-140
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA AWARDING CONTRACT FOR THE CON-
STRUCTION OF CERTAIN PUBLIC WORKS OF IMPROVE-
MENT TOGETHER WITH APPURTENANCES IN SPECIAL
ASSESSMENT DISTRICT.
ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 240
(SILVER ACRES)
WHEREAS, sealed bids have been publicly opened, ex-
amined and declared for the doing of the work and improvements
described in Resolution of Intention No. 76-54 which Resolution
of Intention is hereby expressly referred to for a description
of said work and improvements and for all other particulars rela-
tive to the proceedings under said Resolution of Intention in
what is known as
ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NOi. 240 (SILVER ACRES)
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
ANA, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana, California, hereby rejects all of said sealed proposals or
sealed bids except that herein mentioned, and hereby awards the
contract for doing said work and making said improvements in
ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 240 (SILVER ACRES)
to the lowest responsible bidder, to wit: Vernon L. Wright
at the prices named in the bid of said bidder on file in the office
of the City Clerk of said City.
SECTION 2: The City Clerk is hereby directed to pub-
lish Notice of said award in "THE REGISTER" a newspaper pub-
lished and of general circulation in said City, said Notice to
be published twice by two (2) separate consecutive insertions in
said newspaper.
SECTION 3: The Contractor, further, upon execution Of
the contract, shall furnish bonds in the amount of FIFTY PERCENT
(50%) of the contract price for labor and materials, and ONE HUN-
DRED PERCENT (100%) of the contract price for faithful performance.
SECTION 4: That it has further been determined by the
City Council that the public interest will not be served by allow-
ing the property owners to take the contract for the work or im-
provements to be done under these proceedings.
SECTION 5: That the Contractor shall execute the con-
tract in the times and manner as set forth in the "Improvement
Act of 1911," Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code of the
State of California.
