A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA WELCOMING RELAMPAGO DEL CIELO
INTO THE OFFICIAL FAMILY OF SANTA ANA
WHEREAS, since its inception in 1975, the dreams of a
few people who desired to preserve their Mexican culture and heri-
tage through dance have blossomed into the success story known as
Relampago Del Cielo; and
WHEREAS, in less than two years Relampago del Cielo has
established itself as a first rate company of dancers; and
WHEREAS, as a member of the prestigious American Folk
Dance Federation, Relampago del Cielo has performed before appre-
ciative audiences throughout the state; and
WHEREAS, Metampago del Cielo's goals for the future in-
elude plans to send the entire company to Mexico for intensive
study of dance and music, the promotion of a sister city program
with a city in Mexico, and the support for a cultural center for
the performing arts in Santa Ana, as well as its basic goal of
becoming the best folklorico in the United States and Mexico.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Santa Aha hereby commends and honors Relampago del
Cielo for its work in furthering the culture of the City of Santa
Aha, and extends its welcome of Relampago del Cielo into the offi-
cial family of Santa Ana.
