HomeMy WebLinkAbout77-104MJK:nr 8-30-77 RESOLUTION NO. 77-104 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 77-51 AND APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR 1976 STATE GRANT MONIES FOR THE PRENTICE PARK ZOO DEVELOPMENT PROJECT AND THE LA BONITA PARK DEVELOPMENT PROJECT WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have enacted the State, Urban and Coastal Park Bond Act of 1976, which provides funds to the State of California and its political sub- divisions for acquiring lands and for developing facilities for public recreation and historical purposes; and WHEREAS, the State Department of Parks and Recreation has been delegated the responsibility for the administration of the program within the State, setting up necessary procedures governing application by local agencies under the program; and WHEREAS, said procedures established by the State De- partment of Parks and Recreation require the applicant to certify by resolution the approval of applications prior to submission of said applications to the state; and WHEREAS, said applications contain assurances that the applicant must comply with; and WHEREAS, the applicant agency will enter into an agree- ment with the State of California for the acquisition and/or development of the project; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana, did on April 26, 1977, adopt Resolution No. 77-51, authorizing the filing of an application for 1976 state grant monies for the Prentice Park Zoo development project pursuant to the aforementioned require- ments; and WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana wishes to file a new application for funds to develop both Prentice Park Zoo and La Bonita Park and to withdraw the previously authorized application. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana that it hereby: 1. Approves the filing of a new application for 1976 state grant assistance to develop Prentice Park Zoo and La Bonita Park; and 2. Certifies that said agency understands the assurances in the application; and 3. Certifies that said agency has or will have suffi- cient funds to operate and maintain the project; and 4. Certifies that said agency has reviewed and under- stands the General Provisions contained in the sample state/ local agreement; and 5. Appoints the City Manager as agent of the city to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all documents includ- ing but not limited to applications, agreements, amendments, pay- ment requests, and so on which may be necessary for the completion of the aforementioned project.
