RESOLUTION NO. 77-145
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO CANCEL ARTERIAL HIGH-
WAY FINANCING PROGRAM PROJECT NUMBERS 781, 825, ~D 826
AND INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRAM
THE DEVELOPMENT OF CERTAIN OTHER STREETS WITHIN THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana, by
means of City Council Resolution Numbers 74-184 and 75-176 did
authorize the City of Santa Ana to enter into several cooperative
agreements for improvement projects,hereinafter referred to as
"Said Projects," under the provisions of the County of Orange
Arterial Highway Financing Program, hereinafter referred to as
"AHFP," and
WHEREAS, the County Board of Supervisors did obligate
funds for the County of Orange's participative share in the cost
of said projects designated as:
AHFP 781 - R/W Bristol Street, Seventeenth Street to Garden
Grove Freeway
AHFP 825 - Construct Bristol Street, Seventeenth Street to
Garden Grove Freeway
AHFP 826 - R/W Bristol Street, First Street to Seventeenth
Street
by the County of Orange; and
WHEREAS, modifications of priorities of said projects have
caused the City Council to withdraw their support of certain of
said projects, namely AHFP 781, AHFP 825, and AHFP 826 as pre-
viously submitted; and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana, in a cooperative spirit,
does not wish to unduly impound City and County funds; and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana desires to improve certain
other streets within the City; and
WHEREAS, Articles 2 and 3 of Chapter 9, Division 2, of
the Streets and Highway Code of the State of California authorize
a county to expend funds apportioned to it out of the California
Highway Users' Tax Fund for aid to any city for the improvement,
construction, or repair of streets within such city; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange
intends to provide the County budget of the Special Road Improve-
ment Fund for the fiscal year 1978-79 a sum of money for the improve-
ment of streets within the incorporated cities of the County in
accordance with the Orange County AHFP;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: that the City Council
of the City of Santa Ana does hereby cancel said projects desig-
nated as AHFP 781, AHFP 825, and AHFP 826; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that the City Council of the City
of Santa Ana does hereby request the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Orange to allocate to the City of Santa Ana from County
funds the amount of $1,059,000 for the improvement of certain
streets, as follows:

Said improvements are to be in accordance with the attached project
statements incorporated herein by reference as though set forth
in full.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that the Board of Supervisors of
the County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said work and
acquisition of rights of way, in the manner provided, is in the
general interest of the County.
