The Manager presented a tabulation of bids for the construction of a sanitary sewer
on Eighth Street from Van Ness to Birch Street and Ross Street fro~ Sixth to Eighth
Streets, Project No. 20, as follows:
Plumbing Contractors, Inc. $-~52.00 10~ bond
Edwin L. Barkley 8714.~O 10~ bond
~.lmer E. Barnett 93~2.80 bond
Om recommendation of the c~ttee and on motion of Councilman Rubbard, seconded by
Hall and carried, the bid of Edwin L. B~kley, in the sum of $8714.00, and at the

Control District
Construct culvert
on Delhi Road
unit prices quoted, was accepted and the other bids rejected.
O~ motion of Oouncilman wa11~ seconded by ~Abbard and carried, proper officials
were authorized to execute agree,~nt dated June 27, 1958, with the Orange C~unty
Flood Control District, wherein the City agrees to pay its proportionate share of
the cost f~ the construction of 64 feet of a 104 foOt culvert on Delhi Road at the
Greenville-Banning Channel, Project No. D-3.

On motion of Councilman Nall, seconded by ~ubbard and carried, the plans and speci-I
fications were approved and the Purchasing Agent authorized to advertise for bids
for the widening of a portion of 17th Street, west of Bristol Street, contiguous
to Ralph's Market in Honer Plaza, Project C-28; bids to_/opened July 21, 1958.
On ~tion of Coun¢~!m,n Nell, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the request of
Ed Noonan, on behalf of Cub Pact No. 41, for pe~mission to sell fireworks at 2~11
South Bristol Street, from June 28th to July 4, 1958 inclusive, was granted.
At the request of the Manager and on motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by
