RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL DESIGNATING
PERSONS TO PEP-FORMVARIOUS DUTIES FOR
SPECIAL ASSESSMENT PROCEEDINGS.
CITY OF SANTA ANA
WHEREAS, this City Council is, at this time, considering the forma-
tion of a special assessment district and this City, pursuant to
the terms and provisions of the "Improvement Act of 1911", being
Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of Cali-
fornia, for the construction of certain public works of improvement,
together with appurtenances and appurtenant work, said assessment
district to be known and designated ~s
ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 242

(hereinafter referred to as the "Assessment District"); and,
WHEREAS, at this time, this City Council is desirous of making the
required appointments and designating persons to perform certain
duties pursuant to said "Improvement Act of 1911",
NOW, THEP~FORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COU~;CIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA
CALIFORNIA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the above recitals are all true and correct.
SECTION 2.
That ' JOHN E. STEVENS is hereby appointed
to perform all of the duties and functions of the
Superintendent of Streets as said duties are specified
and designated in the "Improvement Act of 1911", being
Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code of the
State of California.
SECTION 3.
That the place for recordation of the assessment roll
and diagram shall be the Office of the Superintendent
of Streets, and said assessment roll, warrant and dia-
gram, upon recordation, shall be kept as a permanent
record of said Assessment District.
SECTION 47
That RICHARD SMITH, authorized representative of
ALDERMAN, SWIFT AND LEWIS, is hereby appointed to act
as Design Engineer and Assessment Engineer for these
proceedings and to perform the terms and conditions
as set forth in their contract and as required by
law under the provisions of the "Improvement Act of
1911".

SECTION 5.
That F. MACKENZIE BROWN, attorney at law, is hereby
appointed to act as Bond Counsel for said proceedings.
for the preparation of all necessary resolutions,
notices, issuance of bond opinion, and other legal
work in connection with skid Assessment District as
said duties, terms and conditions are set forth in
an Agreement entitled SPECIAL COUNSEL AGREEMENT,
which Agreement is hereby approved, and execution
of said Agreement is hereby authorized and directed.
SECTION 6.
That THE REGISTER is hereby designated as the news-
paper for these proceedings and is to be the news-
paper for all legal publications as required by law
and as necessary fo~ the completion of this Assess-
ment District.
