Meeting called to order by the Mayor. Present: Councilmen Absent: Counc~ 1 wen People to People Program St~!ey C. Gould, Jr., A. A. Hall, J. Ogden Markel, Dale H. Heinly Royal E. Hubbard It was moved by CoiElctlm~n. Hall, seconded by Markel and carried, that the regular proceedings with respect to Council meetings be dispensed with. Ma-. Ed Armstrong introduced members of the party of Senor Don Roberto Lopez y Lopez from Santa Aha, E1 Salvador, Central ~merica, with relation to the People to People Program. On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hall and carried, the certified cre- dentials of Senor Don Roberto Lopez y Lopez, signed by Francisco Lara Pineda, . ~lcalde Municipal y Jefe del Distrito, were received and filed. The Mayor introduced the members of the City Council and the Department Heads to Senor Don ~oberto Lopez y Lopez and his party. Mrs. Lydia Fuentes interpreted the letter from Francisco Lara Pineda, addressed to the Mayor, extending best wishes and good health to the Mayor. The Mayor expressed his thanks for the message and extended a welcome to them to the City. Senor Don Roberto Lopez y Lopez extended greetings to the people of the City of Sam~a Aua and presented a gift to Mayor Heinly. The Mayor accepted the gift with thanks and extended greetings to the people of Santa Aha, E1 Salvador, Central America. Edward J. Allen, Chief of Police, presented an honorary Police badge to Senor Don Roberto Lopez y Lopez, which was accepted with thm~ks. Senor Don Roberto Lopez y Lopez presented several books to Mayor Heinly which were accepted with thanks. Mayor Heinly stated that the City of Santa Aha, California, has had the pleasure of hosting Senor Don Roberto Lopez y Lopez, with relation to the People to People Program from the City of Santa Aha, E1 Salvador, Central ~merica, and it will be in furtherance of our People to People Program and the solidity of the friendliness and friendship between the two cities~ and this ~essage to be spread upon the Minutes. Senor DOn Roberto Lopez y Lopez presented an emblem of his country to Edward J. Allen, Chief of Police ~ and it was accepted with th~nks. It was moved by Councilman Hall, seconded by Gould and carried, that a copy of the proceedings of this particular meeting be sent to the Mayor of Santa Aha, E1 Salvador, Central America.
