HomeMy WebLinkAbout79-076KLG:ar 5/15/79 RESOLUTION NO. 79-76 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA OPPOSING PASSAGE OF ASSEMBLY BILL 1343 WHEREAS, in the opinion of this Council, reserve police officers represent the finest tradition of citizen-police cooperation; and WHEREAS, the reserve forces of the Santa Ana Police Department have been extremely helpful in providing services to the citizens of Santa Ana; and WHEREAS, Assembly Bill 1343, if adopted, would severely hamper the use of police reserves in the City of Santa Ana. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, AS FOLLOWS: That this Council hereby declares itself in opposition to the passage of Assembly Bill 1343, and urges and encour- ages all members of the Legislature to vote against said bill. The Clerk of the Council is hereby directed to furnish copies of this resolution to the Governor and to each Assem- blyman and State Senator who represents Orange County, and to the League of California Cities.
