HomeMy WebLinkAbout79-088REL:ms 5/25/79 RESOLUTION NO. 79-88 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AMENDING THE LAND USE ELEMENT OF THE GENERAL PLAN BY REDESIGNATING THAT PORTION OF THE CITY KNOWN AS THE LOGAN AREA FROM THE INDUSTRY DESIGNATION TO A MIXED RESIDENTIAL AND INDUSTRY DESIGNATION, EXCEPT FOR A PORTION THEREOF WHICH IS REDESIGNATED TO THE COMMUNITY SHOPPING CENTER DESIGNATION. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission, at its regular meeting held May 14, 1979, following public hearing noticed and held in the manner prescribed in section 27-16 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code, has approved and recommended to the Council an amendment to the General Plan of the City of Santa Ana as hereinafter set forth; and WHEREAS, this Council has held a public hearing in accordance with section 27-17 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code, and based upon such hearing and the evidence therein presented, does now find the said amendment, as recommended by the Planning Commission, to be in the public interest; and WHEREAS, this Council, prior to taking this action has reviewed and considered the final environmental impact report prepared for the project designated "Logan Neighborhood: Amendments to the General Plan, Zoning Ordinances, and a Specific Street Alignment" and does hereby approve and certify said environmental impact report as having been completed in compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act and the State EIR Guidelines; and WHEREAS, on the basis of the abovesaid environmental impact report, it is found that this amendment to the General Plan will not cause any substantial, or potentially substantial, adverse change in any of the physical conditions within the Logan Area and its surroundings; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA that the Land Use Element of the General Plan of the City of Santa Ana is hereby amended by redesignating that portion of the Logan Area specifically described in Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated herein, from the Industry designation to the Mixed Residential and Industry designation, and redesignating that portion specifically described in Exhibit B, attached hereto and incorporated herein, from the Industry designation to the Community Shopping Centers designation, in accordance with that certain document entitled "GPA 1979-3 'D'," on file with the Clerk of the Council.
