A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
ENTER INTO AGREEMENTS WITH THE CALIFORNIA
HIGHWAY PATROL TO PROVIDE MOTORCYCLE AND
ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION TRAINING FOR SANTA ANA
POLICE TRAFFIC OFFICERS.
WHEIIEAS, on May 6, 1974, the City Council of the City
of Santa Aha adopted Resolution No. 74-73 authorizing the
Chief of Police to enter into agreements with the California
Highway Patrol to provide motorcycle training for Santa Ana
police officers; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana on
September 15, 1975, adopted Resolution No. 75-137, authorizing
the City Manager to enter into agreements with the California
Highway Patrol to provide training for Santa Ana police traffic
officers; and
WHEREAS, on February 22, 1977, the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana adopted Resolution No. 77-21, authorizing
the City Manager to enter into agreements with the California
Highway Patrol to provide training for Santa Ana police traffic
officers; and
WHEREAS, on January 8, 1979, the City Council of the City
of Santa Ana adopted Resolution No. 79-2, authorizing the City
Manager to enter into agreements with the California Highway
Patrol to provide training for Santa Ana police traffic
officers; and
WHEREAS, the aforesaid agreements were entered into pursuant
to said resolutions and Santa Ana police officers participated in
training programs offered by the California Highway Patrol for
motorcycle officers and accident investigations, and said training
programs achieving results satisfactory to the City; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to continue to participate in such
programs; and
WHEREAS, the California Highway Patrol requires the approval
of the City before Santa Ana police officers may continue to attend
said training programs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA ANA that said Council hereby approves the
participation of the Santa Ana Police Department in the Accident
Investigation Training Program and the Motorcycle Training Program
offered by the California Highway Patrol and authorizes the City
Manager to execute, from time to time during fiscal year 1979-80.

agreements with the California Highway Patrol.
