RESOLUTION NO. 79- ]47
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF THE FIRE
DEPARTMENT TO SUBMIT APPLICATION FOR GRANT FOR
ARSON CONTROL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana de§ires to undertake a
certain project designated "Arson Control Assistance Pro-
gram" to be funded in part from funds made available through
the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968, PL-
90-351, as amended, (hereafter referred to as the Crime
Control Act) administered by the Law Enforcement Assistance
Administration (hereafter referred to as LEAA).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA ANA:
1. That the Chief of the Fire Department is authorized
to execute on behalf of the City of Santa Ana, and submit to
LEAA that certain "Application for Federal Assistance (Non
Construction Program) with attached LEAA Form 4000/3," iden-
tified as the Santa Ana Arson Control Assistance Program and
dated August 23, 1979, a copy of which is on file with the
Clerk of the Council, and any grant award that may result
therefrom.
2. That the City of Santa Ana agrees to provide all
matching funds required for said project (including any
extension or amendment thereof) under the Crime Control Act
and Rules and Regulations of the Law Enforcement Assistance
Administration and that cash will be appropriated as re-
quired thereby.
3. That grant funds received hereunder shall not be
used to supplant law enforcement expenditures controlled by
this body.
