HomeMy WebLinkAbout79-178RESOLUTION NO. 79-] 78 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 58-281 BY DELETING THEREFROM THE CLASS TITLE OF CLEP. K OF THE COUNCIL AND HEREWITH FIXING AND ESTABLISHING THE COMPENSATION FOR THE OFFICE OF CLERK OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA WHEREAS, on May 21, 1979, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 79-73 which reinstated the class title of Clerk of the Council to the City's basic classification and compensation plan (~solution No. 58-281); and WHEREAS, it is now the desire of the City Council to fix and establish the salary for the Office of Clerk of the Council on a flat rate basis; speci- fy a first-year vacation leave schedule; and provide certain employee benefits applicable to Executive Management employees of the City of Santa Ana as herein- below specified. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Santa Aha: 1. That Section 3 of Resolution No. 58-281, as amended, is hereby further amended by deleting the class title of Clerk of the Council from the list of class titles contained therein. 2. That the salary for the office of the Clerk of the Council for the City of Santa Ana is hereby fixed and established at $2200 per month and that said salary shall be paid in the same manner and at the same times as other monthly salaries in the City are paid. 3. That the City shall pay to the Public Employees' Retirement System on behalf of the Clerk of the Council an amount equal to five percent (5.0%) times the compensation upon which such retirement contributions are calculated, Such payments are not considered as part of or an increase in base salary. 4. That the Clerk of the Council shall be entitled to accrue and take paid vacation leave in the same manner as is afforded Executive Management employees of the City; except, however, said officer shall be granted an additional forty (40) hours of vacation leave time in order to take five (5) consecutive working days paid vacation leave during the first six (6) months of employment, the scheduling of which shall be subject to the approval of the Mayor of the City of Santa Aha. 5. That, in addition to the compensation and benefits specified above, said officer shall receive any and all benefits accorded unrepresented Execu- tive Management employees of the City who are miscellaneous members of the Public Employees' Retirement System. 6. That this Resolution shall be operative from and after October 1, 1979.
