A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION
IN THE VOLUNTARY COOPERATIVE PURCHASING
PROGRAM FOR POLITICAL SUBDIVISIONS OF
THE COUNTY OF ORANGE
WHEREAS, California Government Code Section Title V
Division 1, Part 2, Sections 51301, et s__t~~, authorizes the
City to contract with the County for the County to perform
certain city functions; and
WHEREAS, it appears that certain items may be
acquired consistent with the City's centralized purchasing
system at a lower cost by contracting with the County to
have selected items bid through the County's Purchasing
Agent.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA:
1. That the City of Santa Ana hereby agrees with the
County of Orange that the Purchasing Agent for the County
shall be and hereby is authorized to negotiate, as requested
by the City, with vendors on behalf of the City of Santa Ana
for the purchase of such items as are regularly purchased by
the County.
2. The City of Santa Aha hereby agrees to issue its
own purchase orders for the designated items requested and
shall be solely and completely responsible for paying for,
receiving and inspecting items in accordance with contractual
agreements between the County and successful bidders.
3. Upon the approval of the terms of this resolution
by the County Board of Supervisors, this resolution shall
constitute the aforesaid agreement between the City of Santa
Aha and County of Orange. This agreement shall be effective
from the date of approval of the County Board of Supervisors
and shall continue until December 31, 1984, but may be
terminated by either party by thirty (30) days written
notice to the other and by fulfillment of all purchase
obligations outstanding at the end of said thirty (30) days
notice period.
