Cross, 14402 South Verano Street, protesting the -nnexation of their property to the City of Santa And. On motion of Counc~lm~- Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the~protest was received and filed. On motion of Counc~m-~ Hubbard, seconded by Bali and carried, the protest was referred to the Clerk to determine the percentage of the value of the land and improvements in the protest. Hearing was declared closed. The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the following Resolution entitled: '~esolution No. 59-169 ordering vacation and abandonment of a portion of an unnamed ~-11ey ~mning south from Washington Avenue" was considered and passed by the following vote: Ayes, Councilmen Royal E. This being the date set for hearing on the adoption of future right-of-way lines Adopt Sectional District Map 2-5-10; 12-5-10; and 13-5-10: Amendment Appli- cations Nos. 270, 271, 272, 273, 274 and 275 Ordinance along 17th Street from the Santa Aha River to the east corporate limits; on Washington Aven~ frcm Flower Street to Grand Avenue and on Flower Street from a point 200 feet north of the center line of 17th Street to the center line of Pine Street, the Mayor declared the hearing will be held on the adoption of future right-of-way lines along 17th Street from the Santa Aha River to the east corporate limits. Joe Vidas, President, 17th Street Improvement Association, requested the hearing be continued as the Director of Public Works will give a talk with reference to this matter, at the Santa Aha College on July 9th. 0n motion of COUnCilmAn Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the hearing was continued until July 20, 1959. The Mayor declared a hearing will be held on the adoption of future right-of-way lines on Washington Avenue from Flower Street to Grand Avenue; no protests were received the hearing was declared closed. The Mayor declared a bearing will be held on the adoption of future right-of-way lines on Flower Street, fi-~ a point 200 feet north of the center line of 17th Street to the center line of Pine Street. Patrick yo~mger, 910 North Flower Street, asked ~y the street is to be widened and the Mayor satis- factorily answered the question. Mrs. ~m~l ia Eastman, owner of property at 605-607 · South Flower Street, and Mrs. A. C. ~eck, 205 South Flower Street, protested the establishmemt of future right-of-way lines om Flower Street. Communication was presented from the planning Department advising the Department of Public Works and the P1AnntnE I~p~rtment submitted a suggested policy concerning the dedication and improvement of property for street l~ses as conditions of approval of Variances and conditional use permits to the Planning Commission on June 22, 1959, and requesting the Council to r~view same and make their determination. It was moved by Counc~lm-n Gould, seconded by Wall and carried, that a Minute Order be entered into advising the planning Department and Department Heads that the Council goes on record suggesting the policy as the conditional approval of use permits and Variances; that the various Deps~-~ments involved be instructed that insofar as granting of use permits and Variances, that consideration be given to the requirement that the applicant property owner be required to dedicate and improve property for street purposes according to City specifications and as the same may reasonably relate to the use of said property.
