RESOLUTION NO. 80-51
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO
INCREASE ITS ALLOCATION OF ARTERIAL HIGHWAY
FINANCING PROGRAM FUNDS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF
FLOWER STREET BETWEEN PINE STREET AND SANTA ANA BOULEVARD
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana desires the improve-
ment of Flower Street; and
WHEREAS, Flower Street is an important arterial
highway in the County of Orange, and of general county in-
terest and responsibility; and
WHEREAS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 7, Di-
vision 2 of the Streets and Highways Code authorize a county,
at its discretion, to expend funds apportioned to it out of
the California Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any city
for the improvement, construction or repair of a street
within a city; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors did include in
the 1973-74 and 1974-75 budgets funds for the improvement of
Flower Street between Pine Street and Santa Ana Boulevard as
Project 691 in the Arterial Highway Financing Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA:
1. That the City Council of the City of Santa Ana
hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Orange to increase its allocation to the city from county
funds to the total amount of One Hundred Eighty-three Thousand
Dollars ($183,000.00), to be used to aid said city in the
improvement of Flower Street between Pine Street and Santa
Ana Boulevard.
2. That the Board of Supervisors of County of
Orange is hereby requested to find that said work on Flower
Street, in the manner provided, is in the general county
interest.
3. That by this resolution, the City of Santa Ana
agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highway Fi-
nancing Program.
