A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA FIXING AND ESTABLISHING THE COMPENSATION
FOR THE OFFICE OF CLERK OF THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA

WHEREAS, the Clerk of the Council has recorded the
proceedings of the City Council, implemented its directives,
preserved the city's records, and coordinated numerous Council
activities; and
WHEREAS, the Clerk has initiated and installed
more efficient office management procedures; and
WHEREAS, the Clerk has accomplished these and a
multitude of other tasks as charged in the catch-all clause
of the job description that reads, "performs related duties
as required;" and
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes the duties of
the Clerk's office have been fulfilled in an able manner and
that such ability merits commensurate compensation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA:
1. That the salary for the office of the Clerk of
the Council for the City of Santa Ana is hereby fixed and
established at $2420 per month, and that said salary shall
be paid in the same manner and at the same times as other
monthly salaries in the city are paid.
2. That the city shall pay to the Public Employees'
Retirement System, on behalf of the Clerk of the Council, an
amount equal to five percent (5.0%) times the compensation
upon which such retirement contributions are calculated.
Such payments are not considered as part of or an increase
in base salary.
3. That in addition to the compensation and benefits
specified above, said officer shall receive any and all
benefits accorded unrepresented Executive Management employees
of the city who are miscellaneous members of the Public
Employees' Retirement System.
4. That this Resolution shall be operative from
and after May 1, 1980 , upon which date Resolution
No. 79-178 is hereby repealed.
