RESOLUTION NO. 80-90
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA ACCEPTING
THE TERMINATION OF MANAGEMENT
CONSULTANT CONTRACT AND APPOINTING
AN INTERIM CITY MANAGER
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana and Carl J.
Thornton made and entered into that certain agreement
entitled "Agreement for Management, and Management
Consultant Services," dated December 3, 1979, hereinafter
referred to as "said agreement," wherein Carl J. Thornton
agreed to perform the duties of interim City Manager for a
period not exceeding six (6) months; and
WHEREAS, Carl J. Thornton desired to terminate
said contract effective May 9, 1980; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to accept said
termination and appoint a City Manager on an interim basis
to fulfill the powers and duties specified in the Charter of
the City of Santa Ana until such time as the City can
recruit and hire a person to fill said office on a permanent
basis.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the termination of said agreement is
hereby accepted effective May 9, 1980.
2. That Daniel E. Stone is hereby appointed to
fulfill the duties and to exercise the powers of the City
Manager as specified in the Charter of the City of Santa Ana
on an interim basis effective from and after May 10, 1980,
until the date specified by the City Council as the
employment date of a person selected to fill such office on
a permanent basis.
3. That the salary for Daniel E. Stone during
the foregoing interim period of time is hereby fixed and
established at four thousand five hundred dollars ($4,500.00
per month.
