HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-29-1959 Special Meeting was held on the call of the Vice-Mayor at 12:OO Noon, October 29, 1 959, and after service of notice to Councilmen Stanley C. Gould, Jr., Dale H. Heinly and Bob Brewer, a written notice thereof was served on the Tustin News, a newspaper, at 639 South B Street, Tustin, California, at 11:10 A.M., October 28, 1959. Council Ohamber Santa Ama City Hall October 29, 1959 12:00 Noon The Meeting was called to order by the Mayor, who was present thereat, and signed the notice calling the Special Meeting. Presentt Councilmen Absent: Councilmen Dale H. Heinly, Bob Brewer, A. A. Hall Royal E. Hubbard, Stanley C. Gould, Jr. Petition Francis X. Shoen, et al ~ · A petition was ~ead signed by Francis X. Shoen, Caroline Foley, Ella Lorraine Lee and Charles M. Lee, requesting the City Council to commence proceedings for the annexation of certain territory lying southwesterly of the present Santa Aha ~ity boundaries, and on motion of Councilman Heinly, seconded by Brewer and carried, the petition was received, filed, and the matter referred to the Planning Commission fo~ Petition Tomm~Dallape, et al ~ J recommendation. A potition wa~ read signed by Tormy Dallape and. Teresa M. Dallape, requesting the City Council to co. nonce proceedings for the annexation of certain territory lying southwesterly of the present Santa Ama City boundaries, and on motion of Councilma~ Heinly, seconded by Brewer and carried, the petition was received, filed, and the Recess matter referred to the Planning Commissic~ for recommendation. The Mayor declared a recess for an indefinite period and to reconvene at a later Presentt Councilmen Absents Councilmen time. Co~m,n icat ion Planning Co~m~ission "South Santa Ana Annex No. 2" Reso.No. 59-278 "South Santa Ana Annex No. 2" A cc~munication was read from the Planning Commis~on, recommending approval of the proposed annexation to the City of Santa Ana of County territory, consisting of approximately 2,000 acres, located south of Edinger Street, east of Harbor Boulevard, west of Newport Avenue and Main Street, and north of Baker Awemue, desig- nated as the "South Santa Ama Annex No, 2", and on motion of Ceuncilman Heinty, sec~ ended by' Brewer and carried, the communication was received and filed. The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of Councilm~n Heinly, seconded by Hubbard and carried, the following Resolution entitled: "Resolution No. 59-278 declaring the monsent of the Cit~ Council of ~nta Ana, California, to commencement of proceedings under the Annexation Act of 1913" for an annexation to be knv.n as "South Santa Aha Annex No. 2" was considered and passed by the following Vote: .
