· A Special Meeting was held on the call of the Mayor at 5:00 P.M.,
November 7, 1959, and after service of notice to Councilmen Royal
;ti E. Hubbard, Stanley C. Gould, Jr., Dale H. Heinly and Bob Brewer,
a written notice thereof was served on the Tustin News, a news-
~ . paper at 639 South B Street, Tustin, California, at 5:35 P.M.,
November 6, 1959.
The Meeting was called to order by the Mayor.

Shiffer, with map attached, requesting the City Council to commence proceedings
for the annexation of certain territory located generally within the area bounded
by Huntzinger, Wakeham and Sunflower Avenues on the n~cth, Bristol Street on the
east, Baker Street off the ~$uth, and Harbor Boulevard on the west, consisting of
990.826 acres, and on motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Brewer and carried~
the petition and map were received, filed, and the ~atter referred to the Planning
Con~ission for recommendation.
The Mayor declared a recess at 5:02 P.M., for an indefinite period and to reconvene
at a later time.
The Special Meeting was called back to order by the Mayor at ~:O5 P.M. November 7,
1959.

A communication was read from the Planning Comission, recommending approval of the
proposed annexation to the City of Santa Aha of certain territory of 990.826 acres,
located generally within the area bounded by Huntzinger, Wakeham and Sunflower
Avenues. on the north, Bristol Street on the east, Baher Street on the south, and
Harbor Boulevard on the west, designated "South Santa Ana Annex No. 3," and on
motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Brewer and carried, the communicat~0nwas
received and filed.
The Council having unanimously walved the reading of the Resolution, on motion of
Councilman Hubbard, seconded by ~rewer and carried, the following Resolution entitled:
"Resolution No. 59-288 declaring consent of the City Council of Santa Aha,
California, to commencement of prooeedings under the Annexation Act
of 1913"
for an munexation to be known as "South Santa Aha Annex No. 3" was considered and
passed by the following vote:
Ayes, Councilmen Royal E. Hubbard, Bob Brewer, A. A. Hall
Noes, Councilmen None
Absent, Councilmen Stanley C. Gould, Jr., Dale H. Heinly
The Resolution was passed and adopted at 5~08 P.M., November 7, 1959.
On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Brewer and m rried, the Manager and
Attorney were directed to take the necessary legal action against annexation pro-
ceedings of the City of Costa Mesa, known as "Sunflower Annexation" and "Huntzinger
Annexation," and ask the Court to declare them null and void.

On motic~ of Co~mcilman Brewer, secor~ed by Hubbard and carried, the City Council
adjourned to Monday, November 9,1959, at 5:00 P.M., in the Council Chamber.
