HomeMy WebLinkAbout80-217REL:adg 12/1/80 RESOLUTION NO. 80-2]7 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO PERMIT THE REGISTRAR OF VOTERS OF SAID COUNTY TO RENDER SPECIFIED SERVICES TO SAID CITY RELATING TO THE CONDUCT OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON MARCH 3, 1981. WHEREAS, a General Municipal Election is to be held in the City of Santa Ana on March 3, 1981 in consolidation with a special election of the Santa Ana Unified School District; and WHEREAS, in the course of conduct of said election, and in relation thereto, it will be necessary to mail sample ballots and polling place information to the registered voters of the City, and it will facilitate such mailing if the Registrar of Voters of the County of Orange will make available to this City the computer record of the names and addresses of all eligible registered voters in order that labels may be printed for attaching to self- mailer sample ballot booklets; and WHEREAS, it will also facilitate the conduct of said election if the Registrar of Voters will provide certain other supplies and services incidental to the said election to the City; WHEREAS, all necessary expense in performing such services shall be paid by the City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That, pursuant to the provisions of Section 22003 of the Elections Code of the State of California, this Council hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of Orange County to permit the Registrar of Voters to provide the following services to this City, as requested by the Clerk of the Council, for use in conducting said election: (1) Verification of voters registration of persons signing candidates' nominating papers; (2) Provision of voting booth$~ (3) Provision of the County's record of the names and addresses of all eligible registered voters in this City and in the Santa Ana Unified School District as necessary for the mailing of sample ballots and other election materials to said voters prior to the election; (4) Provision of printed indices of the voters to be used at the polling places; RESOLUTION NO. 80-217 PAGE TWO (5) Provision of such other incidental election supplies and services as are available from the office of the Registrar of Voters and requested by the Clerk of the Council. SECTION 2. That the City shall reimburse said County for all such services performed when the work is completed and upon presentation to the City of a properly approved bill. SECTION 3. That the Clerk of the Council is hereby directed to forward without delay to said Board of Supervisors and to said Registrar of Voters, each, a certified copy of this resolution.
