RESOLUTION NO. 81-6
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
ANA AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF CAL-
IFORNIA THROUGH THE DEPARTMENT OF CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY
PATROL FOR ABANDONED VEHICLE ABATEMENT PARTICIPATION
WHEREAS, California Vehicle Code Sections 9250.7
and 22710 provide for an Abandoned Vehicle Trust Fund, and a
method of disbursement of funds to local agencies that par-
ticipate in the Abandoned Vehicle Program; and
WHEREAS, Section 16-115 of the City of Santa Ana
Municipal Code provides that the City Council shall, by
resolution, establish the administrative fee for the removal
of abated vehicles from private property; and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana, California desires
to participate in the Abandoned Vehicle Abatement Program,
and share in the said monies of the Abandoned Vehicle Trust
Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA:
1. That the amount to be assessed in accordance
with Santa Ana Municipal Code Section 16-115 for the admin-
istrative cost in connection with the removal of abated
vehicles from private property (excluding the actual cost of
removal of the vehicle itself, or any part thereof), shall
be fixed at Fifty Dollars ($50.00).
2. That the Chief of Police, Raymond C. Davis,
is hereby authorized to execute the agreement with the State
of California through the Department of California Highway
Patrol for participation in said Abandoned Vehicle Abatement
Program from July 1, 1980 through June 30, 1981.
