A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF ~%HE CITY OF SANTA ANA
AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 58-281 TO ESTABLISH AN ASSI(~ENT
PAY DIFFERENTL~L FOR FIRE C~AIN INCL~BENTS TMMI~DRA}LILY
ASSIGNED TO SERVE AS EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT FOR (/IMMUNITY
AND DEVELOPMENT SERVICES
W~EREAS, on November 3, 1958, the City Council passed and
adopted l~solution N~. 58-281, revising and re-establishing the Basic
Compensation Plan for all officers and ~ployees of the City of Santa
Ana; and
W~HEREAS, Section 1004, Aritcle X of the City Charter of the
City of Santa Ana requires the City Manager to prepare, install and
~intain a position classification and pay plan subject to Civil Service
~les and l~ulations and the approval of the City Council; and
W~IEREAS, the City Council has frcm time to time anended said
~solution; and
W~HEREAS, in order to immediately implament the activities of
the Executive Assistant f0D OamLunity and Develo~ent Services as spe-
cified in the administrative reorganization plan, it is desirable to
mak~ a temporary assigr~nent of a public safety employee to such posi-
tion; and to provide compensation equivalent to the salary approved by
Council in the reorganization plan, without separating said ~mployee
frem Public Safety retirement status for a period of six m~nths.
NOW, ~HEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Santa Ana:
1. That Section 3 of l%esolution No. 58-281, as anended, is
hereby further anended by:
a. Adding the following pay differential designation to
the list of such designations footnoted at the end of section 3:
An incu~nt in the class of Fire Captain who
is t~mporarily assigned to and serving as Ex-
ecutive ~ssistant for Cc~munity and Development
Services during the period of Dec,bet 16, 1980
to June 15, 1981 will be paid an additional
$416.00 above his/her then current base monthly
salary rate.
2. That this l~selution shall be operative from Dec~mber 16,
1980 until June 15, 1981 only.
