A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
ANA AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 58-281 TO ADD THE NEW CLASS
TITLE OF DIRECTOR OF PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT SERVICES
AND TO DESIGNATE SAID CLASS AS UNREPRESENTED EXECUTIVE
MANAGEMENT.
WHEREAS, on November 3, 1958, the City Council passed and adopted P, msolution
No. 58-281, revising and re-establishing the Basic Compensation Plan for all offi-
cers and employees of the City of Santa Aha; and
WHEREA~, Section 1004, Article X of the City Charter of the City of Santa Ama
requires the City Manager to prepare, install and maintain a position classification
and pay plan subject to Civil Service Rules and Regulations and the approval of the
City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has from time to time amended said Resolution; and
WHEREAS, with the adoption of the 1981-82 Annual Budget, City Council approved
a reorganization of the City's development services functions and activities by
consolidating the formerly separate departments of Planning and Building Safety
into a new department of Planning and Development Services; and
WHEREAS, in order to expedite the implmentation of said reorganization it is
now desired to establish a single new Executive Management class of Director of
Planning and Development Services in place of the two separate classes of Director
of Planning (EM) and Director of Building Safety (EM) so that recruitment of qual-
ified candidates for the new position can be begun immediately.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Santa Aha:
1. That Section 3 of Resolution No. 58-281, as amended, is hereby further
amended by:
a. Adding, in proper alphabetical sequence, the new class title of
DIRECTOR OF PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT SERVICES at Salary Rate Range No. 540,
$2907-$3533 per month.
b. Designating said new class as Unrepresented Executive Management by
adding the parenthetical identifier (EM) next to following the class title
2. That this Resolution shall be operative from and after~
1981.

day of Auqust , 1981, by the following vote:
AYES: Acosta, Griset, Luxembourger, McGuigan, Serrato
