A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
AMENDING RESOLUTION No. 58-281 AND RESOLUTION NO. 81-139
TO PROVIDE SPECIAL EQUITY SALARY ADJUSTMENTS FOR CERTAIN
UNREPRESENTED MANAGEMENT CLASSIFICATIONS.
WHEREAS, on November 3, 1958, the City Council passed and adopted
Resolution No. 58-281, revising and reestablishing the Basic Compensation Plan for
all officers and employees of the City of Santa Aha; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has from time to time amended said Resolution;
and
WHEREAS, on August 17, 1981, the City Council passed and adopted
Resolution No. 81-139, amending Resolution No. 58-281 to provide a new compensation
plan for management personnel, including salary adjustment schedules for fiscal
years 1981-82 and 1982-83; and
WHEREAS, the consideration of special equity adjustments for a number
of management classes was deferred until this time in order to conclude labor
negotiations regarding salary and benefit adjustments for the City's represented
(non-management) employees; and
WHEREAS, based on ananalysis of prevailing rates paid for comparable
management positions in other agencies in Santa Ana's relative labor market and
the application of other salary administration criteria, including internal salary
relationship considerations, the Council finds and determines that special salary
adj~ents are warranted for the management classes set forth hereinbelow; and
WHEREAS, in order to maintain the relevancy and equity of the Basic
Compensation Plan, the Council desires to amend Resolution No. 81-139 by assign-
ing new salary rate ranges for said management classes from and after January 1, 1982.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Santa
1. That Section 3 of Resolution No. 58-281, as amended by Resolution
No. 81-139 is hereby further amended by:
a. Changing the class title of Redevelopment Real Estate Officer
to Real Estate Officer.
b. Assigning the following class titles to the new 3-Step (A through
C) management salary rate ranges on the effective dates as next herein set out:
