Meeting called to order by the Mayor.
Present: Councilmen Royal E. Hubbard, Bob Brewer, A. A. Hall
Absent: Councilmen Stanley C. Gould, Jr., Dale H. Heinly

Newport Northwest
Annexation"
On motion Of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Brewer and carried, the communica-
tion from the Planning Corm~ission was received and filed recommending approval
of proposed annexation to the City of territory designated "Vanderlip and Newpo:
Northwest Annexation," consisting of approximately 1,280 acres; segment one of
this area is botuuded generally on the north by Fairhaven Avenue, on the west by
Lincoln Avenue, on the south by Santa Clara Avenue, and on the east by Prospect
Avenue; and segment two of this area is bounded generally on the north by Santa
Clara Avenue, on the west by the Corporate Limits of Tustin, on the south by
Petitions requesting
annexation to City;
"Vanderlip and Newport
Northwest Annexation"
First Street, and on the east by Esplanade and ~ewport Avenues.
Petitions were presented signed by Russell R. and Eunice L. Caldwell, 17901 Eas~
First Street; Elsie M. Henry, 14842 So. Prospect Avenue; Dominick Sfregola,
northwest corner of 17th and Deodar Streets; Art Pilant, 14346 Ehlen Way;
Godfrey W. Staves, 14771 Holt Avenue; Gordon Tripp, 13361 Flint Drive, et al,
requesting annexation to the City of territory designated "Vander!ip and Newpor'
Northwest Annexation." On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Brewer and

Declaring consent
proceedings "Vanderlip
and Newport Northwest
Annexation"
carried, the petitions were received and filed.
The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion
of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Brewer and carried, the following Resolution
entitled:
"Resolution No. 60-231 declaring the consent of the City
COuncil of Santa Ana to commencement of proceedings
under the Annexation Act of 1913"
of territory designated-"Vanderlip and Newport Northwest Annexation", was con-
sidered and passed by the following vote:
Ayes, Councilmen Royal E. Hubbard~ Bob Brewer, A. A. Hall
Noes, Councilmen None
Absent, Councilmen Stanley C. Gould, Jr., Dale H. Heinly
On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Brewer and carried, the City
Council adjourned to Wednesday, November 16, 1960, at 5:00 P.M., in the Council
Chamber.

On motion of Councilman Hubbard~ seconded by Brewer and carried, the Affidavit of
Publication of Notice of Intention to Circulate Petition for annexation of terri-
tory to the City of Santa Ana, California, designated "Vanderlip and Newport North-
west Annexation," was received and filed.
The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of
Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Brewer and carried, the following Resolution
ent it led:
"Resolution No. 60-2~2 acknowledging the receipt of a copy of
Notice of Intention to Circulate Petition For Annexation of
territory to the City of Santa Ana, accompanying statement
and affidavit of publication thereof and approving the cir-
culation of the petition"
of that certain territory designated "Vanderlip and New-port Northwest Annexation,"
was considered and passed by the following vote:

The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution~ on motion of
Councilman Hubbard~ seconded by Brewer and carried~ the following Resolution en-
titled:
"Resolution No. 60-233 ascertaining the general prevailing
rate of per diem wages in the locality of Santa Ana,
California, for the crafts and classifications needed to
execute City contracts"
was considered and passed by the following vote:
Ayes, Councilmen Royal E. Hubbard, Bob Brewer, A. A. Hall
Noes, Councilmen None
Absent, Councilmen Stanley C. Gould, Jr., Dale H. Heinly
On motion of Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Brewer and carried, the City Council
adjourned.
