RESOLUTION NO. 82- 96
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
REQUESTING THE FEDERAL AVIATION
ADMINISTRATION FOR A TWO-YEAR EXTENTION
OF THE AIRSPACE DETERMINATION, AIRPORT
AIRSPACE ANALYSIS STUDY NO. 71-WE-106-NRA.
WHEREAS, the Inter-County Airport Authority, the
Executive body established by a Joint Powers Agreement among
several Cities of which the City of Santa Ana is a
participating Member, has been granted a conditional no-
objection approval for a proposed airport in the Chino Hills
area; and,
WHEREAS, the airspace approval now held expires on
August 31, 1982; and,
WHEREAS, the feasibility planning to determine
practicality of locating a minor/medium hub aircarrier
airport in that area is still on-going; and,
WHEREAS, Orange County Blue Ribbon Regional
Airport Committee appointed by the County Board of
Supervisors voted unanimously at their meeting on March 30,
1982, that only two sites appeared practical for a new
regional airport, Chino Hills and Santiago Canyon with the
latter having major air traffic conflicts with the Marine
air bases at E1 Toro and Tustin,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the
participating and sponsoring City of Santa Ana fully
supports the request of the Inter-County Airport Authority
for a two-year extension of Airspace Determination Analysis
No. 71-WE-106-NRA by the Federal Aviation Administration.
