A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT
TO PURCHASE THE WATER SYSTEM IN SANTA ANA OWNED
BY THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA WATER COMPANY

WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 82-47, the City Council
of the City of Santa Ana authorized officers of the city to
negotiate an agreement with Southern California Water Com-
pany to acquire portions of its water system within the
boundary of the City of Santa Ana ("the System"); and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana has caused an
appraisal to be made of the System, as required by Section
7267.1(b) of the California Government Code; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana
desires to offer to acquire the System for an amount not
less than the fair market value of the System; and
WHEREAS, Southern California Water Company has
tentatively agreed to sell the System to the City of Santa
Ana for the sum of $2,000,000.00, subject to approval by the
Public Utilities Commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Santa Ana, that the Mayor and Clerk of the
Council be and are hereby authorized to execute that certain
"Water System Acquisition Agreement" in substantially the
same form as form dated June 28, 1982 , a copy of
which is on file in the office of the Clerk of the Council.
ADOPTED this 6th day of July , 1982.
